Likewise, having competitors to your business fuels the fire in you to achieve greater feats; heck, you probably are already competing against other brands. What you need are proper tools to keep track of those competitors, detailing every nook & cranny of their work.

Analysing your Competitors

Adding a competitor to your list is very simple, just follow this guide to learn how.

Once you have added your competitors’ pages, the competitor analytics details different metrics and statistics of each page (including 1 of your own).

The Rankings

You are shown 3 key statistics right off the bat that first come to mind: Page likes, Total posts, and Engagement rate by post.

The first list shows the total number of Page Likes for each selection. Following that, you can jot down the Total Posts each of you have made and the Fans Engagement rate by Post.

These 3 stats are mostly used as a quick take on your competitors. Moving forward, you are enlightened with a myriad of metrics on your competitors’ performance.

The Comparative Table

As you arrive at the second section, you are presented with a table depicting 4 statistics: Talking about page (number of times the page has been mentioned/tagged); Posts the most on, (day of the week); Max change in fans, (Largest change in fans in a day); and Max post engagement, (Most engagements achieved on a post).

This table compares your page to your competitors (your page will be shown in the first column), giving you an idea of their publishing pattern and its results. You can easily tell the strategy your competitors have planned with this information and adjust your own accordingly.

Graphs & Charts

As always, with Analytics come infographics. As you scroll down further, you can see a series of interactive graphs and charts. These graphs show the daily change rates of various metrics. Let’s clarify that, shall we?

Fan Count & Daily Growth:

This set of line graphs show you exactly how each pages’ community is evolving. Check to see how the total count of fans relate to their growth rate and get an overview of the information with a line for each selection.

Post Engagement & Average post engagement per day

How well do your competitors’ fans engage with posts every day? The answer to that is the daily engagement rates. These graphs plot data and run a line through them to give you a quick overview of the flow.

You can learn the total engagement each selected page receives daily and the average engagement it receives per post per day, Extremely useful when you want to know how loyal every pages’ community is,

You would also want to know the engagement rates on post ‘types’ and posts that fans have made.  You can study this with the following 2 graphs,

Distribution Pie charts

Pie charts always give you an amazing display of the difference between each factor. In this case, the first chart section shows the ‘Engagement Distribution By Post Type’. Important when you want to learn how you and your competitors differ in post categories.

The second one, ‘Distribution of User Engagement’, is for you to learn how fans react to posts.

Top Posts

Finally, we arrive at the Top Posts. You can gather data on 3 of the best performing posts. To further elaborate, each row represents the selections you have made to compare yourself against, giving you a side-by-side comparison of how 3 of your best posts compare with your competitors.
